In second grade, we encourage our players to sign up for one of our "recreational" (rec), or traveling, teams. The teams practice two days a week and play eight games in the fall (early September to late October) and eight games in the spring (early April to mid June). These weekend games are set in a structured environment with referees with neighboring communities such as Verona, Oregon, Belleville/New Glarus and others. Practices and games are focused on development, safety and fair-play.
Teams can also choose to sign up for extra tournaments for an additional fee.
The cost for the recreational teams is $195, which covers BOTH the fall and spring seasons. Uniforms are an additional charge, which is usually around $15 per jersey (home and away jerseys are required).
Some second graders aren't ready for a traveling team, perhaps because they are new to soccer or unsure if they are ready to compete. They are welcome to join our "in-house" program instead.
