The Mount Horeb Soccer Club is excited to introduce the Viking Soccer Academy. This optional academy is an extra opportunity for club players who are looking for additional training during the off season. 

Who is the academy for?

The academy is for Mount Horeb Soccer Club players (2nd-8th grade) who want to develop their individual technical soccer skills and train with other players with a similar mindset. Training sessions will be fun yet appropriately intense and challenging. 

There is no prerequisite for skill level as this can be developed, but please consider if your player is ready for this kind of environment. This is the perfect environment for players who have a positive attitude and are ready to focus on instruction. If you are not sure, please feel free to reach out to your player’s current coach or one of our academy coaches for discussion. 

What is included?

The academy will include age-appropriate technical instruction from experienced coaches, led by head coach, Luke Steel. Luke has been involved in soccer his whole life and has held coaching qualifications from both the England Football Association and US Soccer. Luke has coached in Mount Horeb for around 10 years, including assisting both the girls and boys High School teams and currently coaches his daughter’s 3rd grade team.

Each session will include 5 nights of training focusing on individual ball mastery skills, passing, and off-ball movement. Players will receive a t-shirt if they participate in any of the winter sessions.

Friday Nov 7, 14, 21, Dec 5, 12 (Dec 19th weather date)
2nd/3rd grades: 5:45-6:30
4th/5th grades: 6:45-7:30
6th, 7th and 8th grades: 7:45-8:45
